Job Description – QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)

QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs while being cost-effective. In addition to manual testing, the role includes designing, developing, and maintaining automation test scripts (preferably using Playwright), identifying opportunities to automate repetitive test scenarios, and contributing to the overall automation strategy to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Responsibilities:
  • Review requirements and specifications docs to understand the application functionality.
  • Design and prepare test cases/data, prioritize and execute them, and report defects with appropriate severity and priority.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong “can do” mindset, capable of delivering quality results independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects efficiently while staying focused and aligning work with customer needs, pain points and expectations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Playwright.
  • Identify areas for automation within manual test cases and contribute to automation strategy.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate test design, data creation, debugging, and documentation — beyond basic prompt usage.
  • Apply AI-driven techniques to optimize task & processes, validate scenarios, and enhance overall testing efficiency.
Required Skills:
  • Must have a clear understanding of basic QA concepts along with a good understanding of Agile development methodology.
  • Should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in Web application testing and at least 6+ months of experience in API testing.
  • Good understanding of Testing concepts like Network testing, Usability testing, Compatibility testing, Deployment & Distribution testing, etc.
  • Hands with concepts of Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Basic understanding of SQL concepts and queries
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in test automation.
  • Practical experience in Playwright and working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript as preferred languages, plus the ability to learn quickly from experience with other tools.
  • Ability to write, maintain, and execute automation scripts for Web/API test scenarios.
  • Understanding of automation framework structure, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD workflows.
  • Skilled at using AI-driven techniques to enhance manual test design and automation scripting - generating test ideas, analyzing logs, speeding up debugging, creating test data, and improving documentation, beyond basic prompt usage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively able to collaborate with multiple teams across geographically diverse areas.
Good to Have:
  • Experience with non-functional testing like load testing, performance testing, security testing, and accessibility testing — Tools Knowledge: JMeter, Burp, OWASP ZAP, Trivy, Gitleaks
  • Awareness of testing compliance-focused systems (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA — depending on domain).
